The Agilent 1100 Series is one of the most robust liquid chromatograph systems on the market today.
This HPLC is in excellent condition and has been fully serviced before sale, including testing and replacement of parts (refurbishment) where necessary. The maintenance was performed by the regional largest Value Added Reseller of Agilent Technologies. The comprehensive maintenance report is available on request.
This HPLC consists of the following modules:
G1379A – degasser
G1311A – quat pump
G1313A – ALS (automatic liquid sampler)
G1316A – ColCom (column compartment)
G1314A – VWDÂ (variable wavelength detector)
A description of the different modules is as follows.
G1379A – Micro Vacuum Degasser
The degasser consists of a 4-channel vacuum container, including 4 micro-structured membranes and a vacuum pump. When the micro vacuum degasser is turned on, the control circuit turns on the vacuum pump which generates a partial vacuum in the vacuum container. The pressure is measured by a pressure sensor. The micro vacuum degasser maintains the partial vacuum by turning the vacuum pump on and off depending on the signal from the pressure sensor.
G1311A – Quatpump
The G1311A is an optimized design that provides a virtually pulse free and stable solvent flow with twin floating pistons. The pump is equipped with four solvent inlets with built-in gradient control. The gradient formation is performed by a low pressure gradient valve.
G1313A – ALS (automatic liquid sampler)
This autosampler provides reliable injections from 0.1 µL to 100 µL with easy adjustment for injection volumes up to 1500 µL for applications ranging from microbore to semi-preparative chromatography. The low internal volume of the HP Agilent 1100 G1313A of 300 µL ensures a minimal contribution to the total internal volume of a system. The system uses overlapping injections for increased productivity with sample capacities of 100 × 2 ml vials in a standard tray, 40 × 2 ml vials in a standard tray or 15 × 6 ml vials in a half-tray.
G1316A – ColCom (column compartment)
The G1316A thermostat column compartment is built with two heat exchangers for solvent preheating, automated column identification module and CAN cable. The compartment’s compact size fits easily into a single Agilent 1100 Series HPLC stack. The G1316A offers a temperature range of 10° below ambient to 80°C and a temperature stability of ± 0.15°C. The Agilent G1316A has a column capacity of three columns of 30 centimeters and can use a temperature accuracy of ± 0.8°C. Warming up/cooling down the G1316A takes 5 minutes from ambient temperature to 40°C. This column has many safety and maintenance protocols, such as comprehensive diagnostics, fault detection and display, leak detection, safe leak handling, leak output signal for shutting down the pump system and low voltages in large maintenance areas.
G1314A- VWD (variable wavelength detector)
The HP Agilent 1100 Series G1314A Variable Wavelength Detector (VWD) provides high sensitivity and improves productivity. This tool has a wide linear range for reliable simultaneous quantification of major and by-products, as well as impurities. Programmable wavelength switching for sensitivity and optimized selectivity for any analysis. Minimum baseline noise with the highest baseline stability for the lowest detection limits.
