Bio-Rad iCycler Thermal Cycler

The thermal cycler of Bio-Rad type iCycler is highly suitable for PCR reactions, genotyping and mutagenesis studies. This thermal cycler reaches heating speeds of up to 3.3 ° C per second with an accuracy of ± 0.2 °C. Furthermore, the iQ detector of the thermal cycler can simultaneously collect fluorescent light from four fluorophores in 96 well plates. These signals are separated into the contributions of each individual fluorophore, making it possible to monitor four signals simultaneously on the same plate or in each well. Using this data, separate amplification plots are displayed and at the end of the experiment, individual default curves are automatically activated. This way unknown concentrations can be determined on the basis of an individual fluorophore.
