Cell counter Innovatis Roche AG, type CASY TT.
The CASY TT is designed as a research instrument for distribution of cell size and the absolute number of cells in a sample and displays the end result in a graph.
The measurement of the amount of cells is done by suspending the cells in an electrolyte (CASYton). Thereafter, the liquid and cells will be pumped through a pore in which the cells are counted.
The counting itself works by means of sending an electric current through the pore with a frequency of 1 MHz, if a cell is insithe pore the voltage drops.
Larger cells provia higher resistance in the pore, and thereby a lower voltage.
