This PCR workstation combines shortwave 254nm UV radiation with antimicrobial stainless steel construction to create a contamination-free PCR workspace. The acrylic enclosure is UV- and beta-blocking and effective for protection against 32P labeled compounds.
PCR workstations utilize high-intensity UV to reduce the chance of DNA contamination, creating an ideal environment for preparing PCR and other samples. The ultraviolet irradiation can be used as a standard laboratory practice to reduce surface and airborne contaminants in the chamber. This quick and efficient process can be enacted between experiments.
Antimicrobial-coated stainless steel surfaces are easy to clean and resist growth of destructive bacteria. Antimicrobial coating is stain- and fingerprint-resistant as well.
UV function operates with a key switch, and features a safety shut-off switch that automatically turns the ultraviolet light off when the door is open. This non-ventilated, circulation-free chamber further limits exposure of equipment to an open lab environment.
The workstation is designed for placement of large instruments on the base work area, or tubes, flasks, and pipets on the two removable shelves. The bi-fold hinged door flips up for easy access to the work area. Four built-in power outlets allow operation of equipment for use in PCR applications.
